The deadline to apply for this internship has passed.
Check out the links to the right for more openings at American Association of Advertising Agencies.
Why is this posting still here, then?
Good question. For a few reasons:
The American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) wants to jumpstart the advertising careers of the country’s most talented multicultural students with its Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), which offers 10-week paid, full-time summer internships at real-word advertising agencies. MAIP interns gain practical work experience, establish key industry contacts, and perhaps most importantly, are better prepared to land a full-time job in advertising when they graduate.
Internships are available in the following advertising agency departments:
Account Management, Account Planning, Art Direction, Broadcast Production, Copy Writing, Digital/Interactive Design, Media Buying/Planning, Strategic Planning, Print Production, Project Management, Public Relations and Traffic.
MAIP 2009 runs from June 5 to August 15.
To apply for the internship, you must be:
? Asian/Asian American or Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, Black/African American, American Indian/Native American, multiracial or multiethnic (e.g., Hispanic and Black);
? A citizen or permanent resident of the United States (visas are not accepted);
? Currently a college junior or senior (including Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 graduates) or graduate student at any accredited, degree-granting college or university, or a student attending a participating AAAA portfolio school*;
? Maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0. (Undergraduate students with a GPA of 2.7 to 2.99 are also encouraged to apply, but must complete an additional essay question in the student application.)
? Able to show you’re committed to a career in advertising.
Interested college juniors, seniors and students in graduate or portfolio school should visit www.aaaa-maip.org to obtain more information about the program and to download an application.
