This posting has expired.

The deadline to apply for this internship has passed.

Check out the links to the right for more openings at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Why is this posting still here, then?
Good question. For a few reasons:

  1. For remembering. If you applied for this internship and then promptly lost the contact info, you can still find it here.
  2. For posterity. Say you're looking for a summer internship, but they haven't been posted yet. You're patient, but you still want an idea of what different companies offer. You can see the postings from past years to get an idea.
  3. For kicks. Maybe we like it this way. :-)

The Department of Art of Asia, Oceania, and Africa studies, interprets, maintains, and manages a large collection of art from many countries and regions including China, Japan, Korea, India, Iran, Turkey, Southeast Asia, Africa and Oceania. The staff members of the department organize special exhibitions and temporary exhibitions in the permanent galleries, research the collections, enter information into the museum’s database system, and coordinate loans to other institutions.

The Chinese branch of the Art of Asia, Oceania, and Africa (AAOA) seeks an intern to join its team of three curatorial staff. The intern's primary responsibility will be to support curatorial staff in a major ongoing project to comprehensively document the Chinese collection. Duties will include the entry of data into the museum's database, tidying and administration of our ever-growing files, generation of annotated bibliographies, and photocopying.

It is expected that the intern will be able to give at least ten hours of his/her time per week with a minimum commitment of 100 hours.
