The deadline to apply for this internship has passed.
Check out the links to the right for more openings at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Why is this posting still here, then?
Good question. For a few reasons:
The Human Resource Department services both applicants for employment and established departments within the museum. This department provides a proactive environment which values the diversity of the Museum's work force and helps to foster harmonious relations among staff members; to provide an organized system to resolve staff differences; to assist, advise, and counsel; to problem-solve and trouble-shoot; to be a resource and service center for all levels of staff; and to be a source of contact for policy interpretation.
This internship will allow the successful applicant to learn about the HR function in general, and the recruiting function in particular, within a large non-profit organization. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: general clerical duties such as receiving and processing resumes, filing, documenting and editing HR policies and procedures, database management (data entry), responding to phone messages, and other projects as needed.
Qualifications:
•Exceptional organizational skills
•General knowledge of computers
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Commit to 10-12 hours per week on Mondays, Tuesdays and/or Fridays
•Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
•Willingness to be flexible
•Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
E-mail is the preferred method of applying, with all attachments in Microsoft Word format only. Applications may be e-mailed directly to Herbert Jones in the Office of Volunteer and Community Programs (hjones@mfa.org).
