I recently talked to my former colleague who is currently the Internship Program Coordinator and was told their current applications for internships come from different channels. A significant amount of them are candidates who identified the opportunities through exploring their Web site. They like such candidates because this gives them the signal that these are the ones who are very proactive, good at filtering info and digging out useful resources, which are also very important factors if hired as an intern.
