My time at Sephora was fantastic! As expected, I did tasks typically given to interns, such as organizing and making coffee runs. But this internship provided me with many opportunities to complete real work from start to finish. During my tenure I designed in-house motivational notecards to be used in the office. I also designed several logo executions for their blog. I learned about the design process from start to finish, and I assisted with production at many levels. I cannot explain how wonderful my experience was and how much knowledge and insight into the graphic design world I gained.

How to Land this Internship

Be proactive! I always hear my fellow classmates worry about finding an internship. All it takes is a quick email or call to get your foot in the door. Of course, portfolio preparation is key, as well as finding the time for in person interviews, but finding and internship truly is not difficult. For internships in the creative industries, I would recommend Craigslist and CreativeHotlist.com.
