Looking back now, I realize that this internship was extremely crucial to my development as a PR practicioner. I was given the opportunity to pitch story ideas with key influencer contacts at top publications and develop my writing and verbal skills. Additionally, I worked on a summer-long internship project which was presented to senior management. This gave me the opportunity to showcase my speaking and presentation skills which I would not have had the chance to otherwise.

How to Land this Internship

Showing confidence and key listening skills during the interview process is essential. I would take notes and ask questions that pertain to the tasks that will be given during the internship. Other than that, candidates are chosen for previous work experience, education, energy and enthusiasm to learn.
