Why is this posting still here, then?
Good question. For a few reasons:
SpeakOut Boston is a non profit organization that has played a crucial role in educating GLBT Youth audiences across New England about the experiences of GLBT individuals for almost 35 years. Our mission has been and always will be to create a safe school environment, free of homo-bi-trans-phobia and other forms of prejudice by telling the truths of people's lives. We do this through one on one GLBT mentoring engagements in middle schools, high schools, colleges, church groups and business organizations across the Boston and New England area. Responsibilities include: ?Collaborate with Marketing Committee to create brochures and publications that highlight SpeakOut?s services to a variety of audiences, including clients and potential speakers and volunteers within the GLBT community ?Develop ideas to enhance SpeakOut?s visibility throughout the GLBT community and beyond. ?Update and expand website, especially graphics. ?Write and compile monthly newsletter that will be distributed to membership of 300 individuals. ?Collaborate with PR representative to write and distribute press releases. ?Assist with tabling and distributing information at the Dyke March, Boston Pride, and other events.
Intern should have at least junior status at their undergraduate institution.
